Del 19 al 26 de octubre tuvo lugar la décima edición del Spain Classic Raid, donde el equipo sajeño, conformado por José Vicente Juan Agulló e Isabel Beltrán Barceló, se posicionó en segundo lugar con su Land Rover Discovery. La prueba se inició en Barcelona, abarcando ocho etapas que recorrieron aproximadamente 2000 kilómetros, con finales de etapa en Lérida, Teruel, Soria, Guadalajara, Ciudad Real, Jaén y Dos Hermanas.
Finalmente, un total de 117 equipos, de los 153 inscritos inicialmente, lograron alcanzar la meta final el pasado sábado, 26 de octubre, en la ciudad de Dos Hermanas.
Detrás de sí, se hallaban ocho etapas, catorce provincias, cuarenta tramos y más de 2.000 kilómetros de trayecto que serpenteaban a través de caminos terrenales y paisajes naturales de una belleza inigualable.
El Spain Classic Raid 2024 culminó con el triunfo de Marcos Rodríguez y Sonia Vázquez, quienes dominaron la competencia a bordo de un Toyota RAV4.
En segunda posición se encontraban nuestros sajeños, José Vicente Juan Agulló e Isabel Beltrán Barceló, quienes alcanzaron el segundo lugar con su Land Rover Discovery que portaba el 113 como dorsal. El equipo sajeño gano tres etapas de las ocho, la segunda etapa con meta en Teruel, la de Jaén, que fue la sexta, y la octava y última etapa, que no se conoció el resultado hasta la ceremonia de entrega de trofeos.
El tercer escalón del pódium fue conquistado por los italianos Massimo Canella y Carlos Merenda, al volante de un Mercedes Benz ML320.
A pesar de que las condiciones climáticas fueron mayoritariamente favorables durante la mayor parte de las jornadas, la lluvia se convirtió en la protagonista final en la provincia de Sevilla, donde se llevaron a cabo partes de la séptima y octava etapa. Los participantes debieron confrontar los efectos que las intensas lluvias de estos días provocaron en el terreno.
El estado de los vehículos al arribar al tramo espectáculo del Gran Hipódromo de Andalucía evidenciaba los arduos momentos enfrentados.
A team from Sajeño achieves second place in the renowned Spain Classic Raid 2024 competition
The tenth edition of the Spain Classic Raid took place from October 19 to 26, where the team from Sajeño, made up of José Vicente Juan Agulló and Isabel Beltrán Barceló, came in second place with their Land Rover Discovery. The event began in Barcelona, covering eight stages that covered approximately 2,000 kilometers, with stage finishes in Lérida, Teruel, Soria, Guadalajara, Ciudad Real, Jaén and Dos Hermanas.
Finally, a total of 117 teams, out of the 153 initially registered, managed to reach the final goal last Saturday, October 26, in the city of Dos Hermanas.
Behind them were eight stages, fourteen provinces, forty sections and more than 2,000 kilometres of route that meandered through dirt roads and natural landscapes of unparalleled beauty.
The Spain Classic Raid 2024 culminated with the triumph of Marcos Rodríguez and Sonia Vázquez, who dominated the competition aboard a Toyota RAV4.
In second position were our Sajeños, José Vicente Juan Agulló and Isabel Beltrán Barceló, who reached second place with their Land Rover Discovery that wore the number 113 as the number plate. The Sajeño team won three stages of the eight, the second stage with the finish in Teruel, the one in Jaén, which was the sixth, and the eighth and final stage, the result of which was not known until the trophy ceremony.

Although the weather conditions were mostly favourable for most of the days, the rain became the final protagonist in the province of Seville, where parts of the seventh and eighth stages took place. The participants had to deal with the effects that the intense rains of these days caused on the terrain.
