El sábado 22 de febrero, tuvo lugar en San Vicente del Raspeig el VII Rally Hivern, inaugurando así el campeonato autonómico de rallys de vehículos clásicos.
En esta edición, se contó, como es habitual, con la participación de la icónica pareja sajeña formada por Juan Azorín y su hijo Joaquín. Al volante de un Volkswagen Golf 2.0 GTI, lograron completar los 220 kilómetros del itinerario de un rally que serpenteó por diversas carreteras montañosas de la provincia, todo ello bajo un leve pertinaz de lluvia. Afortunadamente, esta situación se intensificó una vez concluidos los tramos cronometrados, sin llegar a ser un factor decisivo en la clasificación final de la prueba.
Los representantes de sajeños alcanzaron el pódium, consiguiendo una destacada tercera posición en la Categoría Clásica (Sin instrumentos), lo cual constituye un excelente inicio de temporada que, a diferencia de años anteriores, se caracteriza por un abundante calendario de competiciones en la Comunidad Valenciana.
Asimismo, el equipo sajeño contempla la posibilidad de participar en diversas competiciones fuera de la Comunidad Valenciana, entre las cuales se destacan el Rally de Teruel y el Rally Ciudad de Albacete, evento en el que han participado en sus tres ediciones previas con resultados siempre favorables.
On Saturday 22nd February, the 7th Hivern Rally took place in San Vicente del Raspeig, thus inaugurating the regional classic vehicle rally championship.
This year, as usual, the iconic couple from Sajeña, Juan Azorín and his son Joaquín, took part. At the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf 2.0 GTI, they managed to complete the 220-kilometre itinerary of a rally that meandered through various mountain roads in the province, all under a slight, persistent rain. Fortunately, this situation intensified once the timed sections were over, without becoming a decisive factor in the final classification of the event.
The representatives of Sajeños reached the podium, achieving an outstanding third position in the Classic Category (Without instruments), which constitutes an excellent start to the season that, unlike previous years, is characterized by an abundant calendar of competitions in the Valencian Community.
Likewise, the Sajeño team is considering the possibility of participating in various competitions outside the Valencian Community, among which the Teruel Rally and the Rally Ciudad de Albacete stand out, an event in which they have participated in its three previous editions with always favorable results.
