Los alumnos del Club Kenpo de Sax, Lionel Martínez y Joaquín Ochoa, lograron cuatro medallas, reforzando así su reconocida reputación en el torneo.
El evento tuvo lugar el fin de semana pasado, los días 22 y 23 de febrero, en el pabellón municipal de Villaseca de la Sagra en la provincia de Toledo. Esta fue la duodécima segunda edición del prestigioso Campeonato Open Internacional de España en esta disciplina de artes marciales, contando con la participación de numerosos clubes a nivel global y presentando un notable nivel competitivo. Los representantes del Club Kenpo Sax exhibieron su destreza y preparación en cada enfrentamiento, logrando el reconocimiento tanto del público como de los organizadores.
En representación del Club Kenpo de Sax y de la Federación Española de Kenpo, Joaquín Ochoa Martínez logró obtener una medalla de plata en Defensa Personal, mientras que Lionel Martínez Hempel se destacó al conseguir tres medallas: bronce en Katas, plata en Kumite y oro en Defensa Personal.
«Más allá de las distinciones, lo esencial radica en el aprendizaje y el desarrollo de los deportistas, ya que este torneo ha constituido una experiencia enriquecedora para los dos Kenpoistas», subrayó el sensei Antonio Delicado Fresnada, responsable del club, quien manifestaba su satisfacción. ‘La Batalla de Toledo’ ha emergido como un evento crucial para estos dos deportistas, quienes continúan acumulando tanto experiencia como triunfos en el ámbito de las artes marciales.

The event took place last weekend, on February 22 and 23, in the municipal pavilion of Villaseca de la Sagra in the province of Toledo. This was the twelfth edition of the prestigious International Open Championship of Spain in this martial arts discipline, with the participation of numerous clubs worldwide and presenting a remarkable competitive level. The representatives of the Kenpo Club of Sax displayed their skill and preparation in each confrontation, achieving recognition from both the public and the organizers.
Representing the Kenpo Club of Sax and the Spanish Kenpo Federation, Joaquín Ochoa Martínez managed to obtain a silver medal in Personal Defense, while Lionel Martínez Hempel stood out by obtaining three medals: bronze in Katas, silver in Kumite and gold in Personal Defense.
«Beyond the awards, the essential thing is the learning and development of the athletes, since this tournament has been an enriching experience for the two Kenpoists,» stressed sensei Antonio Delicado Fresnada, head of the club, who expressed his satisfaction. ‘The Battle of Toledo’ has emerged as a crucial event for these two athletes, who continue to accumulate both experience and triumphs in the field of martial arts.
